“Fortitude is the marshal of thought, the armor of will, and the fort of reason.” – Francis Bacon
Let’s face it, life can be a bit too much to handle sometimes. Challenges and adversities abound in a web spun of choices and actions. There are so many variables; so many cogs to keep in working order day to day. So what happens when one of those cogs gets rusty, or stops working altogether? How do we keep everything running smoothly? The answer is we don’t. Life isn’t meant to carry on flawlessly, and no matter how hard we try there’s nothing that can change that. We can, however, take certain actions and precautions to ensure that when life does go off the rails, we can get things quickly back on track.
I’m a survivor of trauma (please feel free to read more about me), and it has taken me years figuring out how to keep things in working order – and I still am. I’ve had my fair share of struggles, and still do. But the way I go about handling them today is far different from the way I handled them in the past. Everyone has had a bad day. Hell, everyone has had a bad week, I’m sure. And that’s totally okay. What matters the most is how we come out on the other side; how we allow – or don’t allow – things to affect us.
I’ve created this blog to share my thoughts and experiences, give ideas and suggestions on dealing with day to day challenges, to post video tutorials on self-defense (and other things), to share my creative side, and to write articles regarding self-help/self-improvement and lifestyle topics. If there is anything in particular you would like to see me blog about, please feel free to contact me! I am always open to suggestions and answering questions.
It is my hope that my blog will inspire others who have had similar experiences and struggles, and give them a sense of solace, however small. You are not alone – you’re a survivor, and survivors stick together. For the strength of the Pack is the Wolf, and the strength of the Wolf is the Pack (Rudyard Kipling).
